May 25- YARD SALE - Rent an outdoor space 12'x12' for $10, limited number of inside spaces for $15. The mill will advertise in all local papers & radio stations. Hours are 8:00 to 4:00, Friday night set up available. Donations for the Mill table can be dropped off at the Mill beginning May 10. Concession Open.
July 5-7- MILL RIVER DAYS - Numerous activities throughout Hillman. Friday, July 5: Brush Creek Mill open noon to 4, 121 State Street, visit our gift shop Saturday, July 6: Arts and Crafts Show, 9-4 at Brush Creek Mill, Concession Open. Entrees to Craft Show call for applications. $30 for 12' by 12' outside. Limited spaces available indoors for $40, electricity available. Music at the Brush Creek Mill, Free Concert, 7-11 PM, refreshments available, bring your lawn chair/stay for the fireworks; Free fireworks at Emerick Park sponsored by Chamber of Commerce.
July 13- TEEING OFF FOR KIDS at Thunder Bay Resort. Brush Creek Mill 18 Hole Scramble for Children's Christmas Party and Other Youth Programs. Call Thunder Bay Resort at 989-742-4875. Non-Members: $60, Members w/cart pass: $31, Members w/o cart pass: $45, Includes 18 holes of golf, cart, and luncheon. Deadline TBA . Registration 8-8:45 AM, Shotgun start: 9:00 AM. Prizes for Men's Teams, Women's Teams, Mixed Teams, and Individual Events. Also: Chinese Auction, 50/50, and other drawings. Hole sponsorship: $25 or Burma Shave-Type sign for $100.
August 10: HILLMAN V. J. DAY CELEBRATION. VFW parade on State Street at noon. Kids games at Independent Bank parking lot. Activities throughout town. VFW sponsored firewords at dusk.
August 10: HERITAGE DAYS AT Brush Creek Mill 10-4. RIVERS EDGE GIFT SHOP-great variety from regional craftspersons. CONCESSION STAND with hot dogs, brats, cold drinks etc. Saturday 10-4. Fireworks at dusk.
September 10-AN AFTERNOON AFFAIR, Music of our Lifetimes. A special afternoon tea for ladies. (all gentlemen are also invited to attend). Featuring Ticket prices, $4 in advance, $5 at the door. Seating limited, please purchase tickets ASAP. BCM volunteers provide the refreshments.
October 5- APPLEFEST AND ANTIQUE SHOW - antique dealers from all over the state. Spaces available indoors or out. Request applications. Homemade apple dumplings served hot with caramel sauce, ice cream, locally grown apples, cider, etc.
November: PEOPLE'S CHOICE DECORATED TREES CONTEST - An array of decorated trees for your enjoyment Tree registration TBA Voting for People's Choice TBA
November 9- Dinner/Theater - presented by the Brush Creek Mill Players at Hillman Elementary School gym.
December 7 - CHILDREN'S CHRISTMAS PARTY - free to all area children, pictures with Santa, games, crafts, and prizes.
Other Activities at Brush Creek Mill
Beginning Yoga - Meets Wednesdays at 4:00 and Saturday mornings at 10:00.
Brush Creek Writers - Every second and fourth Thursday of the month year round at 2:00. Time to talk about writing and time to write. Adults and high school students welcome.
Music at the Mill- Every third Friday of the month year round. Open "mic." Sign-up to play or sing. Music starts at 7:00. Concession stand open. Free admission.
Saturday Activities- Spinners & Knitters Group, informal get together. No charge. Share conversation and ideas.
Scrapbooking- This group meets the second Saturday of the month, October through May. No charge. Open to all interested in this popular hobby. Help for beginners. If you would like to get started, all are welcome to join.
If you have a hobby group that would be interested in meeting at the mill, please call for information.
Rentals- Rooms may be rented at the mill for meetings and small parties depending on the time and space available. Cost is $50 for the first 3 hours, $20 per hour additional time.
